The Beit Alfa sixth-century synagogue mosaic features colorful folk-art style depictions of a Holy Ark, menorahs, shofars, Etrog's, lulavs and incense pans, all elements of Temple worship in Jerusalem, showing that the Temple, though destroyed, was not forgotten.
Another panel presents the biblical story of the offering of Isaac.
A zodiac also reveals an association to the surrounding culture.
A Greek inscription mentions the names of the craftsmen, which became the basis of the sites imaginative audiovisual presentation.
