Archaeology and History
The Jewish town of Chorazim flourished at the end of the Talmudic period. In the New Testament, Chorazim is mentioned as one of three cities Jesus knew well. Chorazim's beautiful basalt fourth/fifth-century synagogue reveals geometric, floral and faunal carvings and a reconstructed Moses Seat. An ancient ritual bath was discovered nearby. Two large dwellings and an olive press have been reconstructed.
