The Broad Wall

This wall, carefully preserved amid modern construction in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter got its name because it is one of the most massive fortifications uncovered in Jerusalem.
It is part of the wall mentioned in the Bible, which King Hezekiah built in the 8th century BCE over dwellings of the period to protect Jerusalem from the approaching Assyrians on its vulnerable northern side.
