Muma is located in the historic Kibubutz Kiryat Anavim. Founded in 1921, The building was designed and transformed into a restaurant while preserving most of its original architectural features, including the "Magen David" keystone above the entrance door. Restaurant's name is after owmers grandmother - "Muma" was the family nickname of Leah Abushdid, wife ot Itamar Ben Avi, the son of hebrew's revival, Eliezer Ben Yehuda. Muma's design and culinar concept were crafted from the combination of inspirations - The historic cowshed building architecture and legancy, the grandmother's life story and character and the pastoral provincial landscape of Kirayt Anavim.
