Cycling
The Ein HaShofet-HaZorea cycle trail offers bike rides from 13 - 30 kilometers in length amidst the unique scenery of the Ramat Menashe Biosphere, in the area under the jurisdiction of Megiddo Regional Council.
The route comprises 22 kilometers of single track and eight kilometers of woodland cycling that offer access to previously unvisited beauty spots deep in the forest, including scenic lookouts, tunnels through dense woodland and old stone KKL-JNF picnic tables.
The ground conditions, topography and location allow the route to be used all year round, as the forest provides shade in the summertime and the local soil type renders the trail negotiable even on rainy winter days.
The trail is constructed in such a way as to provide an enjoyable experience for cyclists of all levels and tastes: beginners, advanced riders, those who like to relax in the saddle and those who enjoy an adrenalin rush. Although it offers no technical sections, steps or steep slopes, its skillful construction requires experienced riders who take it at speed to exercise maximum control and concentration throughout. In short, a satisfying experience for everyone.
The route is indicated by signs on rocks along the way. These markings are shaped like a tear drop whose point indicates the direction of travel. The drops are the same color as the route they indicate (blue or yellow) and have a picture of a bicycle in the center.
