Museums And Culture
Tucked away in a quite charming corner in the heart of Jerusalem's city center, lies the U. Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art. A visit to the museum offers a glimpse into Italian Jewish traditions, customs and history, as well as an opportunity to travel back in time and experience the unique magic of Italian Jewry. A highlight of the museum is an ancient and incredibly beautiful synagogue from the beginning of the 18th century that was brought especially to Jerusalem from Conegliano, a little town near Venice. The exhibition also includes an exquisite Torah Ark, which is securely dated as one of the most ancient in the world.
