Museums And Culture
The Corinne Mamane Museum of Philistine Culture is the only archaeology museum in the world that is dedicated completely to Philistine culture.
Upon entering the museum, visitors step into a different reality, encountering a Philistine family, journeys on land and sea, idols and cultic objects, the pillars of Samson that are waiting for someone strong enough to knock them down, and an interactive table.
The exhibition brings together the ancient world and the modern world in an innovative manner, displaying archaeological findings alongside high-tech, experiential exhibits.
Curator: Galit Litani. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum displays temporary exhibitions on various aspects of ethnography curated by Yael Wiesel.
The museum also invites visitors to enjoy the tastes and scents of Philistine culture in the Philistine Feast, which offers a variety of dining options from a complete feast to Philistine tea and sweets.
