"Every year the trail looks different and during the winter and the spring, the luscious green is particularly extraordinary. The fields change color from brown due to the sun beaming down, to refreshing green colors, and on to seasonal flowers and fruits.
How to Get There:
from the Gan Yavne Regional Council [1] travel east until Hatzor Ashdod [2]. On the outskirts of the village, turn south along the path until a T intersection. Continue east, along Nachal Barkai river, until the river crossing [3], go along Nachal Lachish river. Go to the south bank of the river and continue between the fields until you reach the T intersection, where you turn right (west) and immediately, after a few meters, cross Nahal Elah stream [4], another tributary of the Nachal Lachish River.
Pass the stream to the south and turn left with the path and the stream until the path curves south and leaves the stream. The path continues between the fields and groves until the T intersection and turn right, west [5]. Near the cemetery of Azrikam, it is worth stopping for observation from the point that overlooks the southern coastal plain and the low lowlands. Then turn right towards Azrikam and at the first roundabout, at the entrance to the Moshav, turn right again, northward. We travel towards the outskirts of the Moshav in a general direction to the north, along the paths between the fields, until we reach Nachal Elah again [6]. In this section, the ride is generally oriented west to the reservoir area and the crossing point of the river [7]. Pass on the northern bank of the stream and climb the embankment of the purification ponds. Above, among the pools, you get a nice view of the area and you can see different birds that are drawn to the water. We cross the pools and in the northern springs we descend from the embankment and cross the Nachal Barkai River. Upon arrival at Gan Yavne, the tour ends. You can pedal back to the starting point [1].
