Archaeology and History
The third-century CE synagogue at Bar'am National Park is nestled within in a beautiful old pine forest. The intricate carvings on its doorways reveal that its congregation invested great resources and energy in creating a monument of which they would be proud.
Standing in what was once its central colonnaded prayer, study and meeting hall, you can imagine it in all its glory, similar in its basilica style to other Galilee synagogues like Capernaum and Chorazim.
