Carmel Mountain

Carmel Mountain, a biblical symbol of beauty is home to nature, history and fascinating human scenery. The Druze towns of Daliyat al-Carmel and Isifya are popular destinations, as is Muhraka, the traditional site of Elijah's challenge to the Baal priests.

South of Haifa is the Carmel Nature Reserve, including the Hai-Bar wildlife reserve. Nahal Hamearot Nature Reserve tells the story of Carmel's prehistoric inhabitants. The Mediterranean port city of Haifa is home to the gold-domed Bahai shrine and gardens, the charmingly restored 19th-century Templar quarter, the University of Haifa and the Technion.
