The Bible is everywhere at Tel Beit Shemesh, although it has not been restored.
One outstanding find, a massive wall, indicates how essential Judean kings considered the defense of this town, on the western border of their realm, to be.
From the mound you can see Zora and Eshta'ol (now a kibbutz and a moshav) between which Samson was born, and the Valley of Sorek, home of his mistress Delilah.
Through this same countryside, the Ark of the Covenant once returned to Beit Shemesh from Philistine captivity.
