Midras Ruins is located in the area of the Adulam Caves Park, which contains the remains of an ancient agricultural settlement, the name Midras preserves its arab name Horbat Drosiya.

A cave was discovered in Midras Ruins, which contains a system of underground tunnels, about 100 meters long, this system is one of hundreds of hiding caves that were exposed in the Judeas desert where the jews were hiding during the Bar Kokhva revolt.

The route at Midras Ruins leads to four main sites, which are a system of hiding tunnels from the Bar Kokhva revolt, a unique pyramid in Israel, a jewish burial system and a colombarium cave.

In Midras Ruins many hiding systems were uncovered, but this is the only cave open to public visits.

The passage in the narrow and low tunnels is only crawling on all foursm the crawl lasts about 20 minutes.

Burial cave - remains of a magnificent cave, used during the Second Temple period until the Bar Kokhva revolt, is located in the area of the Judean cemetery, hewn in soft chalk bedrock on the slopes of Midras Ruins.

The cave consisted of a courtyard, a burial chamber, an internal burial chamber with arcosolia, the entrance to the cave sealed with a circular stone called the rolling stone and was moved by a railing between two walls.

Crawling is not recommended for children under the age of 3, for claustrophobia sufferers and for large-scale people, not suitable for walking with strollers.

The total length of the hiding system is about 100 meters, the entrance and exit are different and the transition is one-way.

If traveling in the summer it is recommended to do so in the early morning or afternoon.

Drive on route 38 from Sha'ar Hagai, Pass the Ela junction, continue until Srigim junction, pass the junction and about a kilometer after turn right and make a U-turn, carefully cross the road and follow the signs to Midras Ruins.
